Tell Your GivingTuesday Story
Your GivingTuesday story should be just as unique as your organization. Our Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Suite allows your organization the freedom to create a custom story that will display within your campaign. This is where you will highlight the amazing work you have done throughout the year and share what you are fundraising for this GivingTuesday.
For some potential donors, this could be the first time that they are discovering your organization. Make sure there is information in your story about your mission and what people can do to help support your cause even after GivingTuesday. Use our Nonprofit Storytelling Template to help get you started!
Since there will be many organizations asking for donations on November 29, it is important that your story stands out. Try to frame your story around a unique need or program for your organization and focus your efforts on that.
Fundraising Tip: Customize your donation levels with images and descriptions to help tie in your story throughout the campaign!
Use GivingTuesday Branded Resources
Make it easy for your donors and supporters to recognize your organization’s participation in GivingTuesday. When designing your campaign on our Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Suite, you have the ability to add images and graphics throughout. Between your cover photo, campaign image, and your thank you message, it is important to make sure your campaign is consistent and instantly recognizable.
During your GivingTuesday campaign, you will be using specific language for your communications and marketing of the day. You should also use GivingTuesday specific graphics that match the theme of your ask. Our design team has created many downloadable goodies to use for your GivingTuesday campaign. These include social shares, custom profile images, and email headers to use within your campaign and any promotions leading up to the day.

Engage in Peer-to-Peer Fundraising
Call upon your staff and your biggest supporters to boost your fundraising initiatives on GivingTuesday. Using peer-to-peer fundraising is a proven way to raise awareness for your organization and get new donors! On average, a Peer-to-Peer fundraiser brings in four new donors. GivingTuesday is the one day every year that donors are actively seeking organizations to give to. If they see that their friend or family member is involved and is advocating for an organization, they will be much more likely to give!
Through our Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Suite, your supporters can sign up to fundraise on behalf of your organization by creating a “mini-campaign” that champions for your cause. You can also invite supporters to become fundraisers right within your campaign. Just follow the steps outlined in our support article, “How do I recruit a peer-to-peer fundraiser for my campaign?”
Each peer-to-peer fundraiser will have their own toolkit and profile, but the donations will come straight to your organization! Donors can set their own goals, tell their stories, and reach out to potential donors directly through email or social media. It is a fun and easy way for your supporters to share the impact that your organization made on their lives and inspires others to give to a great cause.
Fundraising Tip: Have your board members sign up to become peer-to-peer fundraisers to create some fun competition within your board.
Leverage Matches and Challenges
Take your GivingTuesday campaign to the next level with matches and challenges. These features, available to Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Suite clients, allow your organization to highlight its biggest donors and sponsors of the day. They also create a sense of excitement around the day by making donors feel like their donation will go beyond their initial gift.
A “match” should be created when funds that were donated from a person or company are intended to be used to double the amount raised by your organization. When you can secure matching funds and create a match through your campaign, donations that come in will automatically double. This will make your donors feel that they are able to create an even greater impact on your organization.
A “challenge” should be created when funds are given to your organization to be unlocked once you hit a fundraising milestone. Examples of this include reaching a specified donation or donor amount. Donors will be able to track the progress of your challenge right on your campaign page. Once the milestone is reached, those funds will automatically release into your organization’s total raised! Your donors will feel a sense of unity as they work together to reach your challenge!
Fundraising Tip: Add your match or challenge sponsor’s name, logo, and description to recognize their impact on your campaign!
