Libraries Transform – Celebrating National Library Week 2016

Libraries Transform is the theme for this year’s National Library Week from April 10th-16th!

Starting in 1958, this week was established by the American Library Association (ALA) in order to help recognize the benefits that libraries provide to our local communities and promote their continued use and support.

Transformation is truly what libraries are all about!  Providing up-to-date information, education, and opportunities means that libraries are constantly adapting to and adopting new technologies, tools, and resources that will better serve their communities.

Libraries Transform

The Libraries Transform Campaign lists 3 primary objectives:

  1. Increase awareness of the importance of libraries and the services they provide
  2. Shift the perception of libraries from obsolete to essential
  3. Inspire libraries to expand their influence

To celebrate this amazing week, we want to recognize all the awesome libraries on GiveGab.  Many of the libraries that use our online giving platform exemplify what it means to put 100% into achieving their fundraising goals.

Our local library, Tompkins County Public Library (TCPL), is one of our Nonprofit Champions on GiveGab! They run beautiful online campaigns and work hard to reach their goals, so they can continue to keep the library open to the local community and stay continually transformed!

To celebrate or get involved with Libraries Transform, consider volunteering at your local library, providing a donation, or even showing your support by simply revisiting the great services they have to offer!
