Spring it On 2018 Raises Over $136k for Nonprofits in Western New York
On March 20 and 21, Western New York celebrated its sixth annual Giving Day, Spring it On 2018.
This year’s 24-hour giving event was held from 6 PM on March 20 to 6 PM on March 21. Details on last year’s Giving Day can be found here: Western New York Celebrates Fifth Annual Giving Day, Spring it On 2017.
Spring it On is an online fundraising event aimed at raising awareness and resources for nonprofits throughout Erie and Niagara County. This day was established by The United Way of Erie and Buffalo County in order to provide positive focus to participating organizations.
In 24 hours, 126 nonprofits raised over $136,000 from 1,614 donors!
Throughout the Giving Day, nonprofits with the Most Raised and Most Donors were updated in real-time and showcased on the Spring It On Leaderboards:
Topping the Leaderboards with the Most Raised and the Most Donors was United Way of Buffalo & Erie County with over $15k raised from 141 donors!
Their Giving Day profile was fully customized with a banner image, giving levels (i.e., donation tiers), a compelling story, and even a video.

Community outreach through social media (#SpringitOnWNY) and email engagement from nonprofit participants, their supporters, the United Way, and local media sponsors, played a critical role in the success of this Giving Day.
