Monthly GiveGab Product Updates – August 2020
The GiveGab team dedicates time every month to create impactful and robust additions to the GiveGab Fundraising Suite made available in our monthly product updates.
Let’s dive into some of the most notable updates made to our platform in August.
Giving Days
Giving Days are 24-hour (or longer!) digital fundraising challenges where organizations, schools, and hospital foundations can rally their supporters together to raise funds for different initiatives.
Business Fundraiser Updates
Our Business Fundraisers feature is an exciting addition to our Giving Day offerings. They allow local businesses to get involved with a Giving Day through their own ‘Business Profile.’ Employees are encouraged to give through their employer’s fundraiser, attributing their gift to the total raised by the company. Within our Partner Dashboard, Giving Day administrators can manage, organize, and keep track of Business Fundraiser performance. We have now added a column within the Business Fundraiser table in Partner Dashboard to display “Amount Raised” for each fundraiser that was created. By adding this column, our Giving Day partners can more easily access this information without going into each individual profile page.
Additions to Organization Support
As the philanthropic leader in your community, you understand that the heart of your Giving Day is your participating organizations. You want nonprofits of all shapes and sizes to be able to take part in and benefit from this event. Some nonprofits may be too small or new to be able to fundraise under their own EIN; this is where fiscal sponsorship comes in! Fiscal Sponsorship allows you as the host to collect donations on an organization’s behalf during the day so that you may distribute the funds at a later time. When you have Fiscal Sponsorship enabled for your Giving Day, you will see a dropdown within the ‘Organizations’ tab of your Partner Dashboard under the column ‘Fiscally Sponsored.’ When ‘Yes’ is selected, donations made to their organization will payout to the bank account provided as the Account Owner for the day. This allows you more efficiently to manage which organizations will be fiscally sponsored during the day since it is now more clearly surfaced within your Partner Dashboard.
Partner Dashboard Improvements
For most Giving Days, participating organizations must fill out a registration survey that partners use to collect specific information such as their size or number of employees. Within your survey, you are able to create ‘Registration Types’ that categorize the organization taking part in the day. Typically, these types act as pricing levels for the organizations signing on to the day such an “Early Bird” or “Nonprofit Member” discount. New this month, your dedicated Project Manager can now make changes to Registration Types even if they have already been used. Previously, if a Registration Type had been used by an organization, it could not be edited.
Additionally, when an organization registers for a Giving Day, they are added to the Organization’s table within the Partner Dashboard. Information is displayed about the organization, such as its name, EIN, and cause areas. It also displays helpful registration information such as the user that registered the organization. This is especially useful when you need to send follow up questions to this person. Originally this column was titled “Admin” and has been updated this month to display “Registered By” improving clarity around the information that this column is representing.
Enterprise Embeddable Forms
The Enterprise Platform allows organizations to create a completely custom and embeddable donation, registration, and RFI (Requests For Information) forms integrated into their website.
Donor Management Enhancements
At GiveGab, we understand how important it is to organize, manage, and support your donors all in one place. If a donor reaches out with a request, you want to be able to quickly go into your donor’s information and make that change creating a seamless experience for both you and the donor. This is why we put so much effort into creating a robust dashboard within our Enterprise Platform. New this month, administrators can now ‘Cancel and Refund’ a donation directly from the ‘Donation Details’ page. Previously, to process one of these requests, you would need to follow a series of steps to get to the donor’s Transaction Details. By streamlining this process and adding these options to the ‘Donation Details’ page, you can now easily assist your donors who need additional support.
Greater Form Flexibility
One of the most impactful things about Enterprise forms is that you can customize them entirely to fit the look and feel of your organization. In an effort to continuously improve on our customizability within our platform, admin can now rename labels for ‘Show Total’ and ‘Update Total’ buttons when Tally Table enabled on a form. With Tally Table, you are able to display for your donors the total amount of their change before they complete their transaction. With the ability to change the name for these labels you are able to use language that makes the most sense for your organization and its supporters based on the information you are representing.
Updates to Enterprise Reports
Having reports that are easy to understand and provide useful insights, are essential to your organization’s fundraising success. There is now an option to enable the ‘Form Answers’ category of data columns for ‘Financial Transactions’ and ‘Payment Schedule’ reports. Please note that this is intended only for data collected by donation forms, regular registration forms, and our RFI (Request for More Information) forms and do not support data from Multi-registration forms. By enabling the ‘Form Answers’ category for your report, you are able to see transactional records and their associated answer response records.
