Celebrating the Hudson Valley’s First Giving Day, HVGives 2016

On May 18th, 2016, the Hudson Valley region of New York State celebrated their first-ever Day of Giving, HVGives!

This 24-hour giving event was established by the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan (CFOS), the Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), and the United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region, with the following purpose:

HVGives

To unite nonprofit organizations throughout the Hudson Valley to create a solid focal point of fundraising for their individual organizations and missions.

From this fantastic giving day, over $134,000 was donated by 1,090 donors to 201 participating nonprofits!!HVGives

Nonprofits throughout the Hudson Valley participated and engaged in friendly competition to reach various milestones throughout the day and received terrific prizes from generous local sponsors.  The prize-winning results can be found on the HVGives prizes page

Participating nonprofits could see the progress of their peers and keep track of who had raised the most and had the most donors by checking out the HVGives Leaderboards.

There was some tight competition, but by the end of the day, Pets Alive topped the leaderboards with the most raised and most donors during HVGives.  You can see how all the nonprofits performed by checking out the updated Leaderboards:
