GivingTuesday 2020 Results on GiveGab

GiveGab has been a proud participant of the GivingTuesday Movement since our platform first supported fundraising in 2015. In the short six years following, we have increased our mark on the day from $176,555 raised on our platform to an astonishing $20.7 Million in 2020.

GivingTuesday strives to build a world in which the catalytic power of generosity is at the heart of the society we build together, unlocking dignity, opportunity and equity around the globe.” – GivingTuesday.org

This year, the GivingTuesday movement was more critical than ever as our nonprofit communities and educational institutions have continued to feel the direct impact of COVID-19. Many have had to quickly pivot both in their day-to-day operations and in the ways they were able to fundraise.

In 2020, the needs of our communities have risen, and both local and national organizations have stepped up in unimaginable and creative ways. This GivingTuesday was all about showing our organizations just how grateful and inspired we are by their tenacity and creativity in overcoming these circumstances. On December 1, donors gave back, and they did so in incredible ways.

We are proud to announce that the GiveGab platform has processed over $13.3 million in online donations this GivingTuesday, a 63% increase from the online totals for GivingTuesday 2019. From midnight through 11:59 pm on December 1, 2020, GiveGab powered 94 Giving Day sites and processed 104,525 gifts from 54,335 donors for 4,051 nonprofit organizations, with an average donation size of $127.

Check out our other key statistics from the day.

None of these accomplishments would have been possible without the hard work of our Giving Day and year-round fundraising partners, their participating organizations, and the overwhelming support shown by donors throughout the world.

Our Giving Day partners saw incredible results on December 1, 2020, with support from the GiveGab team. Our returning Giving Days saw substantial year-over-year growth while our newest partners shattered their initial fundraising goals.

Each of our Giving Day partners is matched up with a dedicated Project Manager to provide guidance, support, and strategy that provides tangible results.

Listen to what a few of our Giving Day partners have to say about their most recent GivingTuesday experience!

One of GiveGab’s new Giving Days, The Panhandle Gives powered by the Amarillo Area Foundation for nonprofits in the Panhandle area of Texas, reached over 175% of their goal this GivingTuesday.

“Historically in the USA, when there has been great need, there has been great generosity. And the people of the Texas Panhandle certainly lived up to that during The Panhandle Gives. We exceeded our goal of raising $2 million by raising $3.525 million dollars! One of the keys to the success of our campaign was using the GiveGab platform. Donors and nonprofits alike went out of their way to compliment the ease of use the site provides, and from an admin perspective, we couldn’t have asked for better support. Thank you for being an important part of our team GiveGab!” – Amy Lovell, Director of Philanthropic Partnerships at Amarillo Area Foundation

The Big Give, a 24-hour Giving Day hosted by the United Way of Knoxville returned to the GiveGab platform for GivingTuesday 2020. Their team was blown away by the impact they were able to generate for nonprofits serving in Knoxville, TN.

“After the rollercoaster of 2020, we didn’t expect our Giving Day to do as well as it did last year. We definitely didn’t expect it to be our best Giving Day yet – but it was! Thanks to the awesome team at Give Gab, we had a fantastic day helping our community!” – Anna Moseley, Branding and Messaging Coordinator at United Way of Greater Knoxville

The GiveGab team is grateful to continue supporting #iGiveCatholic during their annual Giving Day. This event supports 42 partnering arch/dioceses, foundations, and organizations operating nationwide!

“The results from #iGiveCatholic on #GivingTuesday in 2020 demonstrated the overwhelming generosity of people worldwide! They gave what they could, from their gratitude, to support and celebrate the Catholic organizations who do so much for them and others, and the effects of this one truly amazing day will impact thousands of individuals across the Nation. #iGiveCatholic is extremely grateful to our partners at GiveGab for everything they do throughout the year to ensure everything runs smoothly during our Giving Day and lives continue to be changed.” – Julie Kenny, #iGiveCatholic National Program Director

As we watch this giving movement grow, we can’t help but look ahead to the next GivingTuesday with high anticipation, and we hope you are doing the same. We are so thankful for all involved in making this our best GivingTuesday yet. None of this would be possible without the amazing efforts of our partners and their generous communities. We can’t wait to see the amazing things that will happen this year as this $20.7 million is put to work making the world a better place during this time of exceptional need.

“With the year we’ve just had following the pandemic, nonprofits needed more help than ever, so it was especially heartwarming to see the level of generosity we saw leading up to and during GivingTuesday. Our repeat Giving Days have averaged 74% growth in fundraising compared to last year, and that’s a testament to the drive and commitment of our partners to support their communities.” – Charlie Mulligan, CEO and Co-Founder of GiveGab
