GiveGab Team Interview: Casey Keller, Director of Customer Success
At GiveGab, we’re a small team, so we work closely with the nonprofits we serve. In order to provide you with a closer look at the individuals behind our powerful platform, we’ve started conducting interviews with each of them to be shared on our blog.
Casey Keller is our awesome Director of Customer Success and the first person to complete our team interview questions:
1. Where did you grow up?
Columbia, IL. Right outside of St. Louis, MO.
2. Can you describe what your job is, when you started, and what led you to this career path?
I am the Director of Customer Success and started working for GiveGab in May of 2013. I oversee the Support Desk and act as a Project Manager for our Giving Days. I was born to be a project manager. I love the details and organization and planning that goes into an Event.
In high school, I recall organizing get-togethers with my friends. We didn’t have cell phones, so I used a land line to call around to all my friends to plan our nights. It might take an hour of calling everyone to make sure everyone was on the same page and knew the plan.
I will also organize my shopping list by area of the store so that I can be the most efficient when grocery shopping.
3. What inspired you to work for GiveGab?
The team that I met. Everyone that works at GiveGab is smart and talented. They inspire me, along with the Nonprofits who work tirelessly to make a difference in their communities.
4. What causes and/or nonprofits are you most passionate about?

My children inspire me to work with Youth projects, and I currently fulfill this by working with the Ithaca Children’s Garden.
I also serve on the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals which gives me a chance to meet more amazing individuals that work for Nonprofits.
And I also sit on the planning committee for the Cancer Resource Center. They are an incredible group of people that do so much for those in our community affected by cancer. I can’t say enough good things about them.
5. Are there any campaigns running on GiveGab right now that stand out to you?
The Cancer Resource Center’s Walkathon! I sit on the planning committee. We’re just getting started recruiting runners/walkers/fundraisers for this event.
6. What aspects of your job bring you joy?
Working with the Nonprofits. I love getting to know them better. I love the relationships that we’ve formed with the Nonprofits that use GiveGab.
7. What three words would you use to describe GiveGab’s culture?
Hilarious. Fun. Caring.
8. What was your Birthday celebration like at GiveGab?
It was Star Wars themed. Beth made Yoda and Chewbacca cupcakes. Yoda and Darth Vader were sending me messages throughout the day on our chat feature.
9. How do you recharge?
By going for a run or a hike. Spending quality time with my sons.
10. What movie or novel character do you most identify with?
Duh. Princess Leia, of course…
11. If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
Walking through walls seems like it could come in handy.
12. What would a “perfect” day look like for you?
A perfect day would be spent at the beach with my family. I love being near water.
13. What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in the last year?
I’m trying to do a better job remembering the compliments and forgetting the insults.
