What Giving Day leaders can anticipate for GiveGab in 2023 as we continue as Bonterra

With an incredible spring Giving Day season coming to an end, we are proud of the work we are doing with our partners to help strengthen their communities, gain new supporters, and raise more funds. In addition to these efforts, we have been busy bringing about exciting changes for GiveGab as we continue our path forward as Bonterra. 

In 2022, we announced that GiveGab joined other leading social good technology companies,  CyberGrants, EveryAction, Network for Good, and Social Solutions, and launched our official name and brand, Bonterra.  

Bonterra, which stems from the French word for “good” (bon) and the Latin word for “land” (terra,) represents the exponential good that can be accomplished with the right foundation. Our purpose is to power those who power social impact, and we are doing that by enabling organizations operating across the social good landscape with the innovative technology, unmatched expertise, and strategic partnerships necessary to further their missions and drive stronger outcomes. 

While change can take time to process, we want to assure our customers that, as Bonterra, we will remain dedicated to offering the community leaders and educational institutions we serve with ever-evolving Giving Day technology and the same high-quality, personalized support you deserve.  

In fact, we anticipate you’ll see many advantages of being part of a larger company. Our customers and our platform will benefit from the thought leadership, technology, and tools that are developed based on data collected across our case management, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and fundraising and engagement solutions. With a larger investment in understanding the holistic needs of the social good environment, we can provide you with the expertise that will further the impact of your Giving Day and expand your network.  

Below, we will address some of the questions you and your fellow Giving Day leaders have been asking in response to our transition as Bonterra. Then, we will provide some exciting insights into the enhancements you can expect to see in our platform in 2023. 

Will we still receive the same level of customer support? 

Absolutely! We are committed to providing the same personalized support that sets GiveGab apart. We have a deep understanding of the complexities and unique challenges that come with running a Giving Day, which is why we will remain dedicated to working alongside you to help grow your event and raise more for your community.  

You’ll still work with a dedicated project manager who will help you create goals, meet planning milestones, and keep your Giving Day on track. Plus, your Giving Day participants, donors, fundraisers, and other stakeholders will continue to benefit from GiveGab’s extensive automated help center and educational database, as well as our live support, which is powered by our passionate team of Customer Success Champions. 

Your data will be stored, managed, and serviced in the same secure way. We will continue offering our services and honoring the commitments under your current contract without change, and there is no action you need to take.

Additionally, we will continue to operate our Growth Committee, an internal group at GiveGab with representation from all departments that focuses on helping our Giving Day customers expand the impact of their events. To do this, the Growth Committee will focus on developing and aligning key performance indicators, performing data analysis and industry research, and inter-departmental collaboration efforts to identify areas of growth for our partners. 

Our ultimate goal is to ensure that our Giving Day hosts and everyone involved in these events have the tools, resources, and guidance they need to confidently accomplish more, together! 

Will I still have opportunities to learn from my Giving Day peers? 

You bet! Since GiveGab began supporting Giving Days in 2015, we have seen first-hand the impact that is made when our Giving Day leaders have an opportunity to learn and grow from one another. Giving Days are a niche fundraising event, and it is critical that we create an environment in which ideas can be shared and unique challenges can be addressed. 

We will be revamping our exclusive Giving Day Leaders Facebook group with a new look and feel! This group will continue to be a customer-only space in which each member has the ability to crowdsource answers to their questions and have open discussions with peers. For our Giving Day partners seeking mentorship opportunities, we will continue to offer our “Buddy Program” through which new Giving Day hosts will be matched with an experienced peer who will provide a more personal touch point. Reach out to your Project Manager or Customer Success Manager to learn more about how you can participate in these programs.

While we are not hosting our annual Giving Day Leaders Forum this year in lieu of a Bonterra-wide conference in 2024, we are currently curating an exclusive series of learning sessions this summer. This series will give our Giving Day partners the opportunity to connect virtually and dive deeper into relevant topics to expand your events. 

How will customer feedback on products be received? 

GiveGab has always believed that the people best equipped to provide platform feedback are our customers. You are the ones who are engaging with our platform day in and day out and know where efficiencies can be made so that you can focus on the heart of your work. Some of our biggest enhancements, such as eCards and advanced analytics, have come from customer feedback, and we don’t want to miss out on hearing what your next big idea is!

That’s why in early 2023, we launched our new Customer Ideas Portal! When logged into GiveGab, organizations and Giving Day hosts now see a “Submit an idea” button in the header of the bar on the top of your dashboard. This portal is a direct line to our product team that allows you to submit ideas and suggestions so that we can continue to build the best product for you. We welcome and encourage our customers to leverage this tool for ideas of any size, and to “vote” on ideas submitted by other users. By seeing which suggestions are gaining traction and support and creating this direct line between the product team and our customers, we can better prioritize creating enhancements that will truly benefit a large array of customers. So far, over 100 ideas have been shared by GiveGab users! 

This portal, which is also being utilized for EveryAction, Mobilize, and Network for Good, and will be rolled out across all Bonterra products, will allow us to better understand the holistic needs of the social good organizations we serve. 

What enhancements are on the roadmap for GiveGab in 2023?

Redesigned Giving Day Dashboard 

We want to make it as easy as possible for our partners to manage the technology behind their Giving Day so they can spend more time on what matters most; getting the word out about the event! Last July, our product and development team conducted a series of interviews with partners to gain a better understanding of how our Giving Day Dashboard was being used to complete critical tasks. 

Using that feedback, we’re working on improving the usability of the Giving Day Dashboard to empower users to operate more effectively. To do this, we are focused on reducing time to value by simplifying Giving Day site setup with an easy-to-use interface and by giving hosts more access to configuration settings. Through this redesign, we are allowing our partners to focus on strategy rather than setup when they meet with their project managers. 

Enhanced Giving Day reporting tools 

We know that when it comes to Giving Day optimization, data drives decisions. We’re committed to making more data available and having more flexible tools to generate reporting needed to drive those decisions and increase community impact right within our platform.
